Zetty Julia Mohd Ghawas

The first time I heard her name, "Wow, what a name!" And the first time I met her, "Wow, she's really really a wonderful girl!" She's friendly, sincere and a very good listener. Mohd Fairuz Khan

He's the most loud and sincere guest that ever appeared on this website. He's so funky, trendy, friendly, lovely, etc. An engineer at Perodua, who loves Madonna, Citizen Kane, Paris and shopping but doesn't know how to drive manual car.

Why were you born in Malaysia?
Honey, I could be born anywhere for all I could care… (chewah, kewat tak?)

What would be your perfect meal?
Perfect meal = 1/3 nasi + 1/3 lauk + 1/3 sayur £ 1/3 stomach capacity (you do the math…)

What do you loved most?
Everything about me!!

What is your greatest disappointment?
Everything about you!! LOL, just joking…

How do you define gender equality?
Who are we kidding?

Which is more tiring, singing in the kitchen or the bathroom?
You know, dancing is a lot tiring than singing… but since that wasn’t in the q, I’d say singing in the bathroom is tiring… sebab there is never enough air for my big lungs (maklumlah, akak kalau nyanyi mesti nak nyalak nyalak…)

What is the most embarrassing thing you did in the past?
Ohh, there are just too many… (talk about making a fool of myself? Are you serious?). Anyway, the one that I can remember is when I was in primary school. I was in a singing competition. When the music starts, I started singing. But my voice never came out because I was too nervous. It was so evident that I went on ‘miming’ for about 1 minute. They were all laughing. But me, I just kept on, ironically enough. Needless to say I had to start all over again!! Can you imagine?

If you could meet some from the past, who'll it be?
This may sound sappy, but I would really like to meet my late grandmother. She passed away when I was studying abroad. I was very close to her… *wiping tears!!*

Do you have any irrational fear?
What’s fear? (konon…) Well I don’t know whether this is rational or not, but I’ve always feared people who are dishonest…

Which film you think shouldn't be produced?
All Yusoff Haslam movies. For English, any movies that Sly Stallone/Arnold Susah-Nak-Eja/Mariah Carey have ever made or will ever make…

What is your most annoying habit?
Korek idung

Who do you prefer to be your mentor, Tuah or Jebat?
Tuah definitely… I’m not a fan of antagonist/villain characters… (lagipun akak dengar dia can-do)

How are you going to spend RM1 in one year?
You can’t…

What will you look like at the age of 100?
I’ll look like a dead man… no wait! I am a dead man at 100…

Do you believe in love at the first sight?
Sure do… every time, looking down my McDonalds menu…

What is your best achievement?
*long pause* …. you don’t want me to brag now do you? Anyway, if you insist, I think my best achievement is to accomplish many things while I’m still young – graduated with BSc by 21, earned an engineer title before hitting 22, a car, a house, etc etc… I realise lots of others have far more achievements than me. But personally, I think these have been my achievements… and I’m in no competition with anybody but myself…

Which person has most influenced you?
I’m not easily influenced by anybody… but I thank God I have lots of beautiful people around me: my family, friends, colleagues etc etc… these people help me get through the worst of days… and the best thing is I don’t even have to talk to them. I just think about them and their positive values, and my problems gradually go away… (wah, falsafah lah pulak!)

What is the best part of Malaysia that you liked most?
It’s very safe compared to other big cities, food available 24/7, happening nightlife.

Any comment on abortion?
Didn’t you already ask this q? oh ok I was wrong… I think abortion is cruel and inhumane. You give life, then you take it? What am I missing? Kalau taknak anak, jangan main… kalau nak main jugak, pandai pandailah pakai protection… don’t be too shallow…

What will be your epitaph?
What's an epitaph?

Hasmiron Hamdan: Part Two

Apa lagi, bacalah...

arenaKu: Happy Birthday! Apa yang dihajati pada tahun ini?
Hasmiron: (Ketawa) Terima kasih. Sebelum tu, please, please and please... Janganlah buat aku perasan seperti selebriti pulak. Malu siut!

arenaKu: Perasanlah tu... tak kot? So, what've you wished for this year's birthday?
Hasmiron: Nak kahwin. (Diam seketika) Entahlah, dah suku abad hidup tapi belum banyak pencapaian yang boleh dibanggakan. Mungkin nak kumpul harta sebanyak mungkin. (Mengangguk kepala) Ya, nak kumpul harta.

arenaKu: Are you still a virgin?
Hasmiron: (Ketawa besar) Mak datuk, Azwan Ali pun tak macam ni. Terlampau peribadilah, tak jawab boleh?

arenaKu: Kau yang janji nak jawab semua soalan.
Hasmiron: Aku rasa soalan ni tak relevan. Lelaki ada dara ke?

arenaKu: Satu lagi soalan cepu emas. Apa orientasi seksual kau?
Hasmiron: Eh! Ni laman apa ni? Siapa tanya? Lelaki?

arenaKu: Din.
Hasmiron: Sama macam dia.

arenaKu: Betul ke, kau ni kepala angin?
Hasmiron: (Ketawa) Tak tau camna nak jawab. Tanya oranglah... Kalau aku cakap tidak, korang tak percaya pulak.

arenaKu: How you describe yourself?
Hasmiron: Selamba tetapi cerewet. Ramah tetapi laser. Penyayang tetapi pilih bulu.

arenaKu: Orang cakap susah betul nak bawa berbincang dengan kau.
Hasmiron: Ya ke? (Diam seketika) Bak kata orang, rambut sama hitam tetapi hati lain-lain. Cantik tetapi ada unsur-unsur ke-tak-sama-rata-an. Aku terus terang cakap aku tak mahu beli! Jadi, mamat tu rugilah sikit.

arenaKu: Teruklah kau ni!
Hasmiron: (Ketawa) Apa pulak aku... Aku bab-bab prinsip ni, memang degil sikit. If you can't accept that, I feel sorry for you.

arenaKu: Are you a manipulator?
Hasmiron: (Ketawa besar) Aku tahu empunya soalan ni. Kau sendiri pun tahu yang aku ni memang suka nak argue. Orang cakap sikit aku argue. Almaklumlah, pendebatlah katakan. Kawan baik Zetty lagi! Terus terang aku cakap, I'm not a manipulator. Sebab maknanya dah lain. Tapi aku memang suka mengenakan orang dengan penggunaan diksi mereka. Aku gemar buat orang keliru dengan ayat mereka sendiri. Suka manipulasi ayat-ayat orang tetapi bukannya a manipulator! Satu lagi sebab aku ni pantang dengar orang buat generalisation or sweeping statements. Siaplah...

arenaKu: Besides sleeping, what normally you do when you're alone in your room?
Hasmiron: (Ketawa besar) Ni mesti from Danny. (Ketawa) Baca buku, tukar baju, staring, checking, monitoring, controlling dan lain-lain.

arenaKu: If you were a woman, which Western actress would you be? Why?
Hasmiron: Lisa Kudrow. We share the same interests. Both of us are smart, nice looking and sexy. (Laugh) Only that, she's funnier than me.

arenaKu: What is your dream job?
Hasmiron: A filmmaker with an ample free time to be spent on running my own college for gifted children.

arenaKu: If you ever bump into Michael Jackson, what would you say to him?
Hasmiron: Excuse me, sir. I think your nose is melting.

arenaKu: At what age you think you'll get married?
Hasmiron: Insya-Allah, one year after I've purchased my own house.

arenaKu: What's the best pick up line you have ever received?
Hasmiron: Mahu pergi mana? Naiklah...

arenaKu: Haiya, bukan yang itu lah...
Hasmiron: (Ketawa) Ohhhh.... rasa-rasanya belum pernah lagi. Korang ni tanya soalan yang pelik-peliklah.

arenaKu: I thought you're the one who's pelik?
Hasmiron: Really? (Pause) I love to be pelik. Well, it's not that something to die for but all these while, I've managed to be among the minority.

arenaKu: Contoh?
Hasmiron: How many that you know, will buy Ramli Sarip's Syair Dari Timur and at the same time a big fan of Ning Baizura? I was hoping so much that Pretty Ugly wins the Best New Artiste. I visit regularly to Nora's website, enjoys M. Nasir's keroncong, Oh!... Anak and claimed Ramlah Ram is the trendsetter for the local music industry! Well, these are only one aspect of my life i.e. taste of music. We have yet talking about my interests on films, food, or my habits and bla... bla... bla...

arenaKu: Okay lah, you're verified, approved and certified as pelik?
Hasmiron: It's not something that I proud of, okay. Please, don't get me wrong.

arenaKu: Can we talk about politics?
Hasmiron: Kau biar betul! Ada nanti homepage aku kena ban pulak.

arenaKu: Are you a member of UMNO or KeADILan?
Hasmiron: Dua-dua pun bukan. Pas pun bukan. I don't buy the idea of subscribing to one particular political ideology. I only submit myself to Allah's party, which is Islam. I'm very comfortable with my socialising style - I mingle freely with people from UMNO or Pas or KeADILan or even PRM. And I also have plenty of friends who are in the non-political jemaahs such as ABIM and Tabligh. You know what, I love making friends. As long as I enjoy myself, insya-Allah, it will remains the same.

arenaKu: You admired Tun Abdul Razak. Who else?
Hasmiron: Tun Abdul Razak was very down-to-earth leader. I admire leaders with strong characters and people at their hearts. Macam [Datuk] Nik Aziz (MB Kelantan), arwah Cikgu Md. Zain (bekas KM Melaka) dan Almarhum Sultan Selangor.

arenaKu: [Dato' Seri] Anwar Ibrahim?
Hasmiron: I'm no fan of him.

arenaKu: Are you sure? Your homepage says something else!
Hasmiron: No one can deny that [Dato Seri] Dr. Mahathir Mohamed and Anwar Ibrahim are the few great politicians that our country has. Dr. Mahathir with his development vision and Anwar with his masyarakat madani (civilised society) dream. Both are fascinating to me. Coincidently, my AKHBH was born in late 90's, where everybody talks about masyarakat madani. If, this award was around during the launching of Proton or Petronas Twin Towers or Vision 2020, I'm sure Dr. Mahathir's name will be on the list every year.

arenaKu: Is that why you award Dr. Mahathir with this year's Leadership Pearl Award?Hasmiron: (Serious) Sorry, I don't understand your question! If you think there is a hidden agenda behind my personal appreciation scheme, I feel pity for you. The winners have certain influences and impacts on me on very specific time period. I thanked them for that.

arenaKu: People said you hate football or soccer. Do you play sport?
Hasmiron: Yeap. I think it's silly for 20 people to go after for one ball. I'm more keen on individual events such as track events, badminton and swimming. You, yourself determine the success of the game. In other words, there is no scapegoat for your defeat!

arenaKu: What's your worst nightmare?
Hasmiron: Susah nak cakap. I never wake up one morning and find out that I'm not myself but a different person. Belum lagi kot?

arenaKu: Have you been bullied before?
Hasmiron: (Smile) Yes. If you went to a boarding school and they don't bully you, there is something wrong there. It's either you're bluffing or you're the most boring person on earth. At least, once! Well, it was a good experience for me. Don't be surprised that the relationship became firmer. But there must be a limit. Jangan sampai mati anak orang!

arenaKu: What's the nastiest thing has been said to you?
Hasmiron: "Alah, dapat 5A bukan boleh jadi doktor!" Well, it's true that even you got 5As in UPSR, that doesn't qualify you to be a doctor. But you shouldn't say that to a 12 year-old boy! You end up kill his dream.

arenaKu: Adakah kau gembira dengan kehidupan sekarang?
Hasmiron: Semestinya.
I've seen a real case where the poor mother was struggling in the kitchen cooked the lunch and at the same time tried to finish her washing. The living room needs some cleaning and the mounted clothes on the sofa need folding. Guess what the husband and her all "boys" children were doing? Sat comfortably in front of the TV, laughed at a comedy show.

arenaKu: You sound very emotional?
Hasmiron: Of course I am. People teased me because I like do house works, because of the way I talk, I walk, I act bla... bla... bla... I did play football at the dried sawah bendang behind Tok Jalil's mengaji hut every Saturday before I went to asrama. I did join my kampung friends, swim at the benteng. We used to practice kompang after Isya' prayer every Wednesday night. Well, actually I attended one class only. Anyway, I'm glad that Allah gives me the strength to go on. Sometimes, I wanted to laugh at those people's faces especially when their "jantan" sons failed in SPM or become the drug addicts. Some, do crawled back to me, complained how bad their sons treated them. Believe me or not, there is a cousin of mine, who threaten to harm his parents with parang just because the Ayah scolded him for bringing home girls. Isn't Allah is Great!

arenaKu: Wow, seram siut!
Hasmiron: Betul, it's true!

arenaKu: Everybody knows that your greatest love is your mum. Does your father abandoned you?
Hasmiron: Hoi, taklah macam tu. Well, abandoned is not the right word. I'm very close to Mak, the loving and caring person I ever known. My dad is just the typical Malay father. Very fierce and always put the blames on us when we had fights with the neighbours or our friends. I think he used the "pukul anak sindir menantu" method. That's where, his children learned the importance of honouring their friends. Betul, he's not the type of father who loves to come to the school's Open Day and definitely not the one who will spend some time to check your schoolwork. I think, he doesn't know how to signal his love to us but that doesn't mean he doesn't love us. I know he does. But sometime, we need to hear the words and see the actions. Do you know what's the best gift I ever received from him, or from anyone? My dad's tears on my graduation day.

arenaKu: Do you cry?
Hasmiron: Yes, I am. And it's because I'm human.

arenaKu: You like to use fancy words or phrases such as semarak salam and tancap. Why?
Hasmiron: (Laugh) I don't how to answer this one. Well, semarak salam was invented by William anak Kadam, but I'm the one who added the 'glamour' in it. (Laugh) I think the primary purpose is to gain the attention. Don't you think that I've done a wonderful job?

arenaKu: Are you really engaged?
Hasmiron: (Big laugh) Who asks this question? Well, it depends on which version you listen to. Maybe Mak or Abah wants to answer this question. And I think I know what the next question is.

arenaKu: Apa?

arenaKu: Are you a racist or sexist?

arenaKu: Ada orang cakap, kau suka maki hamun.

Hasmiron: No comment on that but I can assure you that I like to forgive but not forget. Well, it's difficult to overcome the pain overnight. And if you forgive and forget easily, people will not respect or appreciate you. They don't take you seriously.

arenaKu: Big or small family?
Hasmiron: I love kids! Well, we're not talking about pedophilia. (Laugh) Yang itu kerja gila! Seriously, I want to have a big family, at least 4 children. Hopefully, 2 pairs. If you read my past journal, I've mentioned how pathetic I was, when talking about kids. Don't be surprised that I even prepared for their names!

arenaKu: What do you regard as your biggest mistake in life until this moment?
Hasmiron: (Long pause) I don't know. Maybe not pursuing or hesitate to pursue my dream job. I would love to take up film studies but nobody want to sponsor me and I don't have savings to finance my tertiary education. With the eagerness to go abroad, so, I decided to take up accounting, which I have no passion with. Luckily, I read accounting with business information system - not a pure accountancy degree. I hate routine works and in accounting field, you can't run from it

arenaKu: Sometimes when other people look at you differently, do you confront them or do you just ignore them? Why?
Hasmiron: I always ignored these people but if I can't stand any longer, definitely I'll confront them. Mak used to said, "We can never pleased others, so why bother? Just satisfy yourself. As long as they're human, they will talk and talk until they feel tired. Then, they'll stop." I believe Mak is right. Anyway, man is supposed to be different from others. That's the beauty of being Allah's best creation.

arenaKu: What is the most ideal criteria for a person to be a good partner?
Hasmiron: (Senyum) A tough question! I definitely think it's not love but taqwa and then, respect. For my list, additional criteria will be (1) no objection to polygamy if I satisfy the requirements set by Allah, (2) willing to stop working if she is giving birth until our child reaches two years old, (3) reads Quran well and (4) enjoys to engange in intellectual discourse especially with me.

arenaKu: What is your 5-year plan?
Hasmiron: Work and work and work.

arenaKu: In what situation, do you think that a person is worthless and hopeless?
Hasmiron: You're worthless if you don't love yourself and your parents. And you're hopeless if you can make your own decision on your own life matters.

arenaKu: What's the foolish thing you've done in the past?
Hasmiron: Well, you have to ask a good friend of mine, Casey. It was totally not cool and unacceptable. I feel so regret and ashamed. And the other thing is to hurt Abah's feeling, a couple of days before Eid Mubarak. I'm very lucky to obtain his pardon.

arenaKu: Almost everybody in your family complaint on your choosiness when it comes to food.
Hasmiron: (Laugh) I'm not trying to make life difficult but I just can't swallow them because I never eat them before and I can't persuade my heart to give them a try. I've this unexplained awful feeling to these food.

arenaKu: What kind of food you're talking about?
Hasmiron: Mutton, duck, daging kerbau, daging arnab or any kind of meat but chicken and beef. I don't take laksa because it has funny smell, budu, any air tawar fish, and what else huh?

arenaKu: Why you hate Yusof Haslam?
Hasmiron: I only hate his films, which I think were poorly produced and I don't understand why a lot of people are so eager to catch his latest production. Hello, can't they tell that the storylines are similar and full of flaws! But I like his acting in Bukit Kepong and Melati Putih, I'm not wrong.

arenaKu: You're a big fan of Iranian films. Can we expect something like that if you're going to film your own movie?
Hasmiron: I'm the kind of person who focus more on storylines, then acting. Filmmakers like Majid Majidi and Abbas Kiarostami, present their films in very simple and straight forward stories. And that's why their films are very touching and sincere. If I have the money, insya-Allah I will direct my own film. You can expect it (or them) to have minimum casts and less dialogues and simple storyline.

arenaKu: Rasanya dah kehabisan soalan ni. What's your last words?
Hasmiron: Thank you very much for having me today and I would love to turn this homepage into a website, where we share our dreams and thoughts. I also want to congratulate all AKHBH winners and thank you for the inspirations and company. I love you, Mak, Abah, Kak Ngah, Lia, Fizul, Niza and Lan. To Bibit and Auntie Midah, both of you are the best and thanks for your support. The same thing goes to Pak Hitam and Nek Enon, all the family members at Mak's side and Abah's side too. And my friends and teachers. Thank you, thank you and thank you. I'm so sorry for wrongs I've done in the past.

arenaKu: Sudah! Macam menang oscar lah tu... Terima kasih kembali dan Selamat Ulangtahun Hari Lahir ke-25.
Hasmiron: (Senyum) Terima kasih.

Pastu dalam kiraan 10, kitorang kene lari turun bawah, kutip kasut masing2 and then naik atas balik. Yang malunye, mase kitorang kelam kabut berlari tuh, bebudak kelas lain yang duduk kat makmal (ground floor) ketawakan kitorang beramai-ramai. Dila pulak terkial-kial cari kasut tak jumpe2. Hahaha!

Nazira Rahim

This time, another university student is here to share with us some of her thoughts. Born in Klang, this lady loves natures and enjoy listening to music. Currently, she is reading Business Administration part-time at Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Why God send you here?
If I have a chance, I’ll ask God… but I tetap bersyukur dengan apa yang telah ditentukan. Isn’t that right hmmm!

What would be your perfect holiday?
There is one interesting place that I would like to go …kira beranganlah ni. I nak spend my holiday dengan suami, (in the future) orang yang paling I cinta dekat satu tempat yang tinggi dan indah dengan flora dan fauna di mana cuacanya sejuk di waktu siang tanpa panas matahari (coz now days panas sangat) & di waktu malamnya I nak berjalan-jalan di persisiran pantai yang dihembus bayu laut sambil menikmati deruan ombak. So, do U have any suggestion?

What do you loved most?
Myself…If U don’t know how to love yourself first, how are U going to love others, kan? Once U love yourself then you’ll make sure that what ever goes in your life is the best that U want to be and you will work for it!!! Sama lah macam bila U sayang kat someone U will try to do the best for that person.

What is your greatest disappointment?
When I can’t complete my ICSA exam. Satu kegagalan yang besar dan pertama kali dalam hidup I dan ianya mengambil masa yang panjang untuk I berdiri kembali mengejar cita2. Now I’m on my way dengan sokongan dari insan yang paling I sayang, mungkin tanpa dia di sisi sukar untuk I melakukannya.

How do you define gender equality?
For me, man and woman are the same when we talk about human that is created by Allah SWT.

Which is more tiring, singing in the kitchen or the bathroom?
I think neither one b’coz I like to sing while I’m cooking. That is my habit especially I suka bukak lagu kuat2 waktu memasak and I become more energetic…huhh! But to sing in the bathroom I have to make sure takder orang if not my sister will shout at me “Hah nyanyi sama2 dengan Setan…” and I akan jadi gerun imagining the ‘Setan’ is around me…

What is the most embarrassing thing you did in the past?

If you could meet some from the past, who'll it be?
I want to meet Mona Fandey, learn how to kerat orang!!! He..he..he.. Just kidding.

Do you have any irrational fear?
Oh yesss! I'm afraid to sleep in the dark alone. Rasa cam ada something weird dalam gelap tu tengah tengok I dan I tak boleh tido unless ada orang di sebelah I. Or I’ll make sure I betul2 mengantuk before I go to bed so I akan tengok TV sampai tertido even masa tu ada iklan Smartshop jer.

Which film you think shouldn't be produced and what’s your favourite?
Ohh… susah I nak komen coz I jarang tengok film, takder masa.

What is your most annoying habit?>
I kalau merajuk susah nak pujuk. It’s better don’t hurt my fillings or buat I merajuk , silap haribulan I boleh merajuk sampai berminggu…berbulan & bertahun….

Who do you prefer to be your mentor, Tun Fatimah or Teja?
No komen…

How are you going to spend RM1,000,000 in one hour?
That is so easy. First I’ll buy 2 houses and 2 cars, which is one for my parents and one for me. That will coz about RM700 000 and RM100 000 I’ll reserve a package at Tabung Haji for me and my family to perform Hajj. The remaining RM200 000 I’ll donate to build a mosque.

What will you look like at the age of 100?
I don’t wish to live until that age.

Do you believe in love at the first sight?
Yes and no. Yes…coz ada pasangan yang bahagia selamanya dengan cinta pandang pertama mereka. No… coz ada pasangan lebih suka mengenali hati budi masing2 terlebih dahulu and I’m in this category. Walau apa pun I percaya Tuhan telah menetapkan jodoh kita cuma bagaimana kita akan bertemu dengan pasangan kita is the part that we need to do!

What is your best achievement?
I rasa I belum dapat lagi apa yang I nak yang boleh I katakan as ‘best achievement’ event hough there are some memorable achievements I had experienced.

Which person has most influenced you?
I rasa semua orang di sekeliling I yang membentuk I menjadi seorang insan seperti sekarang. Tapi untuk menjadi seorang yang cemerlang dalam pelajaran dan kehidupan, I mendapat sokongan dan tunjuk ajar dari insan yang I sayang.

What is the best part of Malaysia that you liked most?
Semua tempat2 sejuk especially Cameron Highland.

Any comment on smoking?
I tak tahan bau rokok tuu sama jugak dengan orang yang merokok. I boleh jadi pening dengan bau rokok. I can’t stand with the smell. Why these people like smoking even though it’s not healthy and can cause lung cancer. Bukankah membazir itu amalan syaitan?

Why people said Men from Mars and Women from Venus?
Because men are like U and women are like me….kih..kih..kih..

Nor Aminah Jabar

Another banker is here. And she's my colleague. This ex-Tun Fatimah had came home from Leeds, United Kingdom after finished reading Accounting degree in 1998. Married to a handsome guy named Fairoshawal Idrus, Myn is expecting a baby in this coming August.

Why were you born in Malaysia?
It’s not me to decide...

What would be your perfect meal?
Ayam masak serai bersantan .

What do you loved most?
My family .

What is your greatest disappointment?
When I am not able to complete my ACCA exams. I failed a few papers but insya-Allah, who knows...I’ll try again.

How do you define gender equality?
Since I’m a bit conservative, I disagree with western ideology of man and woman should be equal in everything personally, I feel that in terms of responsibility, man has been assigned to be a leader for the mankind as well as for his own family BUT woman, on the other hand, would have to support “man” in the best possible way….in any case, if a woman has to work exactly like what man are doing, I suppose that her intention is to help her family financially or to gain knowledge (as woman are more educated). I don’t deny that when woman ask for equality, what they really meant is that they can be at the same level with man in relation to work / career, opportunity, interest, etc....but only those who are aware that woman is actually created from part of man’s body would understand the whole issue.

Which is more tiring, singing in the kitchen or the bathroom?
In the kitchen of course….while I’m cooking I’ll have to concentrate otherwise I’ll burn everything on the stove……I guess this is due to my bad habit…. I like to think about my work or anything else when I’m cooking…..in malay we call that “berangan”…..a very bad habit…..so far that I can remember, for 26 years…I sing in the kitchen once back in my hometown….I think because my voice is so loud …my neighbour next door just shouted “tak takut ke…nanti kahwin orang tua…”…from then onwards, I never sing in the kitchen…..although I know it’s superstitious….

What is the most embarrassing thing you did in the past?
May be, I’m not the only person in this world who has experienced this………..it happened

If you could meet some from the past, who'll it be?
My late grandfather .. Arwah Haji Adom….my mom’s father…………..Do you have any irrational fear? I don’t think so……but frankly I guess I’m normal…..so far, I’m afraid of dogs, frogs, lizards, etc. Hmm…….I nearly forgot…..I’m not really fond of dark places especially under the sea………I would imagine any kind of monsters would be hiding …waiting to gobble me up..he..he..a bit scary huh??

Which film you think shouldn't be produced?
Personally, I’m quite surprised with film “Dari Jemapoh ke Manchestee”………….for me, this kind of film should not be produced at all………. I don’t think I can learn anything from this film.

What is your most annoying habit?
I think …I’m a pickle-minded person….meaning I can change my decision in a split second……it’s a bit difficult for me to make a firm decision especially when it concern my self-being…..sometimes. in the morning, I can even change my attire two to three times before I go to work. I always feel that a dress can effect my mood….(not that I’m the moody type). Another thing…..if I were to buy something, it would take ages for me to buy even a single thing….because I’ll always choose the best in terms of the price, design..etc. Because of all these reasons, sometimes my friends can’t tolerate my “choosy” behaviour.

Who do you prefer to be your mentor, Tuah or Jebat?
Jebat..of course!! He shows a true friendship, although he knows that when he betrays his own Sultan, he becomes the traitor. Whatever mischief he has done is a symbolic of a friend believing that standing up for his good friend is the right way to indicate the cruelty of the Sultan.

How are you going to spend RM1 for one year?
I’ll just fast for the whole year. During breakfasting session, I’ll just drink plain water and eat dates for energy(those dates I get it from the surau when ever they offer it for free during breakfasting month . Then you can see how slim I can be……he..he..he… (it won’t happen, trust me!).

What will you look like at the age of 100?
I’ll be like Mak Enon….makan songgeh…and won’t be able to talk as I have no teeth….

Do you believe in love at the first sight?
Anything can happen…..if God’s will..then you can’t avoid your own fate. I strongly believe that those who fell in love..when he/she met for the first time…usually prefers the appearance of the person…doesn’t care much about the inner beauty of the person…..

What is your best achievement?
When I joined BNM at the right time and with the right qualification….at least I have never been unemployed….

Which person has most influenced you?
My dear husband…..although we are just married, I know that I’m a better person after I met him….deep down my heart…I feel so lucky (alhamdullilah!!) to have such a caring person as my husband.

What is the best part of Kuala Lumpur that you liked most?
My house at Pandan Indah…..I really-really love my house…….which is always clean, tidy ….a place where I can relax and release my tension……

Any comment on abortion?
Since I’m married, I don’t believe in abortion. Once, I watched Oprah Winfrey show where she discussed about whether it’s wrong to abort a baby whom you know once being delivered would be retarded for his whole life. In this case, I agree with the abortion which would not burden the family and at least the baby has a better life however the unborn baby must be less than 4 months. Otherwise, abortion means killing the unborn baby...

What will be your epitaph?
As a good wife and mother to my children…..so that my children would always remember and pray for my peaceful soul for the rest of their life…..my final destination….of course, I want to join my husband in heaven...

Shalina Sabtu

How should I describe my this month's guest? She's very close to me, even to a greater extent and indirectly, influenced my decisions on education. She went to a boarding school after scored 8As in SRP and took International Baccalaureate Program at Mara College Banting before headed to Leeds. (In my case, I ended up in Manchester. Anyway, it's only 45 minutes from Leeds).

Why God send you here?
Tough one. I’m in search for it myself but I do believe that we are sent to be His slave, to serve Him. It may sound selfish right? Why God put it that way, but in real fact, God gave us the pleasure of enjoying the beauty of the world and thus we should be thankful. Being His slave but being given wealth, prosperity and happiness of living, I think our prayers 5 times a day are not enough compared to what he gave us. I am also thankful that I am sent to a Muslim family and a wonderful one too.

What would be your perfect holiday?
Where I can bring my whole family (mom, brothers + sis with their family, in-laws) along, shop till we drop & not bothered about money.

What do you loved most?
To make my family (my mom in particular) happy.

What is your greatest disappointment?
I’d rather not say it, it’s just too painful to swallow.

How do you define gender equality?
Both sharing the same responsibilities , given the same respect albeit man is still the leader .

Which is more tiring, singing in the kitchen or the bathroom?
I don’t sing in the kitchen and I find singing in the bathroom relaxing. Don’t quite answer your question huh?

What is the most embarrassing thing you did in the past?
Being interviewed by TV3 and it was aired on national TV but what I said was crap.

If you could meet some from the past, who'll it be?
Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.

Do you have any irrational fear?
Arachnophobia. Just can’t stand even the sight of spiders... eeewww!

Which film you think shouldn't be produced and what’s your favourite?
Blue films. Favourite film? Or favorite shouldn’t be produced films? My favourite is Forest Gump. Think it’s delightfully creative.

What is your most annoying habit?

Who do you think you are?
A normal person seeks for attention, happiness, success, affection and hopefully stardom. One thing for sure, I'm different from others!

Do you believe in love at the first sight?
Nope, love comes through out the time. It could takes years. You need to build it with trust, respect, care and affection. It's not simply, that's it.... that's my love!

What will you look like at the age of 70?
Robert Redford? Well, I don't think I will live that long.

Are you a trouble-maker?
I can be arrogant and stubborn but generally I'm good natured and a good companion and friend. I did give problems but not all the times.

What is your greatest achievement?
Make my parents proud to have me as their son.

Do you have any irrational fears?
No, mine are all rational, normal and typical.

Who or what do you love?
I love my family the most and it is wonderful to have a big happy one. I love Simpsons, Ally McBeal, Friends & Countdown.

Who or what do you hate?
People who completely close-minded, Yusuf Haslam's movies and English football. I also hate when people say they know everything about you based on one or two things you did.

Which person has most influenced you?
My dearest mum and my late grandpa.

Why are you against Hollywood films?
No, don't get me wrong. Some of them are really good such as Dead Man Walking & The Shawshank Redemption. I just can't accept one man hero with super extra power. Films are suppose to educate people as well as entertain the audience. But spoon the truth sincerely.

What's your Top 10 of all time favourite films?
Bukit Kepong (Malaysia), Secret & Lies (UK), Dead Man Walking (USA), The White Balloon (Iran), Farewell My Concubine (China), Branches of A Tree (India), Three Colours Red (France), Rashomon (Japan), Muriel's Wedding (Australia) & The Piano (New Zealand).

Who would you choose to write, direct, star in and score your dream film?
Abbas Kiarostami to write it, Uwei Hj Shaari as the director, Ogy Ahmad Daud, Susan Sarandon, Anthony Hopkins & David Thewlis to star in it and Zhao Jiping to compose the score.
What is your most annoying habit?Talk too much and like to argue a lot.

Do you support death penalty?
Yes.

What is the most embarrassing thing you did in the past?
Did a stupid thing to my best friend and until today I don't even know whether he has forgive me or not. I feel ashamed!

Many people don't agree with your statement of 'being cheap'.
That's my personal view and I respect others' but again this is only my view. Be honest is vital to a relationship. I believe that I belong to my (future) wife and vice versa. How can you feel comfortable when you know that your partner had physical contact with other people. Any physical contact such as kissing, holding hand or hugging clearly prove that you are cheap. What if you don't marry to this man/woman, will you feel guilty to your wife/husband. It's like serving a food that has been touched.

What would be your perfect day?
Wake up early and go to bed late.

Can you sing?
Judge by yourself

Semarak Salam. Is it a sincere greeting?
Yes, of course! A friend of mine created that phrase. It sounds nice, kan?

Which is your favourite law?
Everything in Ally McBeal.

What will be your epitaph?

Your last words, please.
Go for the one who loves or cares you, not the one that you love.

Addi Faiz Adnan

Mengapa anda dilahirkan?
Untuk beribadat kepada Allah.

Apakah hari paling ideal bagi anda?
Any happy day is an ideal day for me.

Apakah pencapaian paling gemilang buat anda?
I can't say which one is the most 'gemilang' because it depends how you define pencapaian... in terms of what? Academik, Agama, Sosial, etc. But I would say thus far, everything that I've achieved or wish to achieved would have to be very 'gemilang' to me.

That sounds like a tricky question... well I would have to say that singing in the kitchen would have to be the most tiring 'cos you've got to watch your cooking from burning up as well as your voice so as not to disturb the neighbors. If your in the bathroom, you've only got to watch your decibel level as you can't over wash yourself... and I don't think there has been a case where you could drown in the tub whilst singing, is there?

Hmmm... memalukan myself or someone else? I can't really think which one is the worst cos I've done some really embarrassing things in the past.

Apakah yang anda minat?
Saya suka kucing.

None, I think they should ALL be produced but try to limit the number of romantic love stories 'cos I think there's enough of them already.

Adakah anda mempunyai ketakutan yang tidak rasional?
What do you mean by 'rasional'? If you mean phobias, then I'm acrophobia. I'm afraid of heights.
If you're referring to the book, then I don't really know. I haven't read it yet. Maaf.

Apakah tabiat sendiri yang paling anda menyampah?
Procrastination.

That's because the husband knows that the wife can't stand to see the kitchen in a mess and will do the cooking and cleaning for him and the wife will know that the husband will always say how much he loves his wife even though she looks like the back of a bus.

Adakah anda percaya pada 'cinta pandangan pertama'?
Mungkin....

Bagaimanakah anda menghabiskan RM 1 000 000?
Secepat mungkin.

Siapakah yang banyak mempengaruhi anda?
Ibu dan ayah saya.
